15′ x 3.5′ Ready Tread Drop Cloth
The Drop Cloth That Doesn’t Drop the Ball.
Ready Tread is a heavy-duty, waterproof and reusable painter’s drop cloth designed for hallways, stairs, walkways and other narrow work areas. Its 15 ft x 3.5 ft runner shape makes it easier to protect floors during painting, remodeling and maintenance projects without the excess material of a larger drop cloth.
The textured surface helps reduce shifting underfoot, while the waterproof construction helps prevent paint, water and other liquids from soaking through to the floor beneath it. Ready Tread is PVC free, PFAS free, lead free and phthalate free.
- READY TREAD ANTI-SLIP TECHNOLOGY: Renegade’s exclusive Ready Tread surface is designed to help reduce shifting and improve stability on many common jobsite floors. No more worrying about unwanted movement on hardwood, tile, or concrete. Our textured grip is built to provide reliable traction without tape or adhesives, helping protect floors and support safer footing for your crew. The 3.5ft x 15ft runner size is ideal for hallways, stairways, and other tight spaces where precision matters.
- 3-4x THICKER THAN STANDARD: At 23mil, Ready Tread is roughly three to four times thicker than typical painter’s plastic and built for demanding jobs where thin sheeting can tear easily. The added thickness helps improve puncture and tear resistance under everyday jobsite traffic like boots, tools, and ladder placement. While lighter plastic can fail quickly, Ready Tread is designed for repeat use when handled and stored properly, delivering a longer service life from one job to the next.
- ZERO BLEED-THROUGH: Kick over a gallon of paint. Watch it pool on top, not seep through. Ready Tread’s seamless barrier stops every drip, splash, and spill. No weak seams. No pinholes. Your hardwood stays hardwood, your carpet stays clean, and your customer stays happy.
- BETTER THAN CANVAS: Traditional canvas drop cloths absorb paint, get heavy, and let spills soak through to your floors. Ready Tread blocks 100% of liquids and weighs a fraction of canvas. All the protection of canvas, none of the hassle. Safe for indoor use – free of PVC, PFAS, lead, and phthalates.
- RECYCLE WITH RENEGADE: We’re the only drop cloth brand that takes back your used product for recycling. After years of hard use on painting jobs, return your Ready Tread and earn credit towards a replacement. It’s our way of keeping plastic out of landfills and in responsible circulation.
- REBEL FOR A REASON: Renegade was built to challenge an industry full of flimsy, toxic products. We engineered Ready Tread to protect worksites and people without sacrificing strength or performance. No intentionally added PFAS, PVC, phthalates, or lead. This isn’t greenwashing – it’s how drop cloths should have been made all along.
- RUNNER SIZE FOR PRECISION WORK: The 15’ x 3.5’ format handles hallways, walkways, narrow spaces, and trim work where larger drop cloths bunch up or won’t fit. Perfect for baseboard painting, door frame touch-ups, and moving through a house room by room. Professional painters know: the right size drops save time.
- THE BEST DROP CLOTH YOU’LL BUY: Most painters burn through a pack of plastic sheeting every few jobs. Tear, toss, repeat. Ready Tread handles multiple uses without failing. One purchase. Lots of protection. Do the math – this is the smart buy.

What can I use the 15' x 3.5' drop cloth for?
The narrow runner shape is designed for hallways, walkways, stairways and other tight spaces where larger drop cloths can bunch up or get in the way. It is also a practical choice for painting baseboards, trim, door frames and narrow work areas.
Is the Ready Tread drop cloth waterproof?
Yes. Ready Tread creates a waterproof barrier that helps prevent paint, water and other liquids from soaking through to the floor beneath it. Wipe up spills promptly to reduce tracking and keep the work area clean.
How is Ready Tread different from a canvas drop cloth?
Canvas drop cloths absorb paint and liquid, which can allow spills to soak through if the material becomes saturated. Ready Tread creates a waterproof barrier that helps keep paint, water and other liquids from reaching the floor underneath.
Unlike canvas, Ready Tread does not absorb moisture and is easier to wipe clean between projects. Its textured surface also helps reduce shifting underfoot, while the durable construction is designed for repeated use on painting, remodeling and maintenance jobs.
Does the drop cloth help prevent slipping?
Ready Tread features a textured surface designed to help reduce shifting and provide additional traction on many common indoor surfaces, including hardwood, tile and concrete. Surface conditions can vary, so make sure the drop cloth is lying flat and securely positioned before beginning work.
How thick is the Ready Tread drop cloth?
The drop cloth is 23 mil, or approximately 0.58 millimeters, thick. Its heavier construction helps improve resistance to punctures and tearing from normal jobsite traffic, tools and ladder placement.
Can the drop cloth be reused?
Yes. Ready Tread is designed for repeated use when properly cleaned, dried and stored. Its waterproof construction does not absorb liquid like canvas, helping make cleanup and reuse easier from one project to the next.
How should I clean and store the drop cloth?
Wipe up spills and remove dried debris after each use. Clean the surface with mild soap, water and a soft cloth or brush. Avoid bleach, harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaners. Allow the drop cloth to dry completely before rolling or folding it for storage.
Can the drop cloth be recycled?
Used Ready Tread drop cloths can be returned through Renegade’s take-back program for recycling. Contact Renegade for current return instructions before sending back a used product.

I am a painting contractor that does about 600 jobs a year. We are always looking for tools that can improve both the client experience AND efficiency. So far, this shows the customer that we care by putting this down at the entry immediately. We have always done that with canvas which can cause problems with being a bit slippery. Done. And it is water proof so no worries about anything soaking through.
Getting more for all of our crews.
