What can I use a 10' x 10' tarp for?
The 10' x 10' tarp provides 100 square feet of coverage for camping shelters, tent footprints, ground covers, equipment, firewood, patio furniture and building materials. Its square shape also works well for creating rain protection or a sun shade over a campsite or work area.
How many grommets does it have?
The 10' x 10' tarp has 16 reinforced, rust-resistant grommets. Five grommets are positioned along each side, including the corner grommets, to provide multiple attachment points.
Is the tarp waterproof?
Yes. Renegade tarps are fully waterproof. The coated polypropylene-based fabric blocks rain, snow and moisture to help keep your items dry without the need for water-repellent sprays. Unlike canvas tarps, which can absorb water and soak through during prolonged exposure, Renegade’s coated material does not absorb moisture.
Why does my tarp develop dark spots when it gets wet?
If the tarp’s surface coating becomes worn, moisture may temporarily darken the material. This is typically cosmetic and should not affect the tarp’s waterproof performance. Renegade tarps are made from mildew-resistant materials and are not treated with moisture-wicking chemicals. Allow the tarp to dry completely before folding or returning it to its storage bag.
How should I clean it?
Rinse the tarp with mild soap and water to remove dirt, sap or pollen. Use a soft cloth or other gentle cleaning tool, and avoid abrasive brushes or harsh detergents that could damage the coating. Let the tarp dry completely before folding or storing it.
Can the 10' x 10' tarp be recycled?
The tarp is made from polypropylene-based materials and can be recycled through Renegade’s take-back program or facilities that accept the applicable polypropylene material. It should not be placed in curbside recycling unless your local program specifically confirms that it accepts the product.
What size tarp should I choose?
Choose a tarp that extends beyond the item or area you need to cover and leaves enough material for securing it through the grommets. The 10 ft x 10 ft tarp is a versatile square option for campsites, shelters, equipment and projects requiring up to 100 square feet of coverage.

I bought the 10×10 tarp a year ago. It feels sturdier and seems easier to clean than typical tarps I have bought in the past. It has held up very well so far.
I got the 10×10 almost four years ago and it’s been great. It’s outlasted every other tarp I’ve had since then and has held up to some serious abuse. Years of UV exposure, heavy winds, abrasion (my fault), high heat and lots of rain. It looks and functions like new still.
Great tarp! Took it camping and loved it, and use it around the yard all the time. Easy to clean, easy to pack up.
The Renegade tarp nurtured and preserved life at 9.600′ above sea level. Not the drama of a human life, but fistfuls of mountain flower seeds slumbered beneath the tarp through the cold winter of Breckenridge, Colorado.
Come the late spring, and lousy precipitation across the entire mountain west, the seeds sprouted and the tarp provided shelter from the storms and cold.
The tarp is now folded up for summer and will do duty yet again come this winter– and El Niño is expected to test all cold-weather challenges. We’ll keep you posted come Spring 2027!
