What can I use a 20' x 12' tarp for?
The 20' x 12' tarp provides 240 square feet of coverage for boats, trailers, large equipment, building materials, firewood and outdoor storage. It can also be used to create a large camping shelter, rain cover, sun shade or protected work area.
How many grommets does it have?
The 20 ft x 12 ft tarp has 14 reinforced, rust-resistant grommets positioned around the perimeter to provide multiple attachment points for securing larger loads and covered areas. Five along the length, and four along the width.
Is the tarp waterproof?
Yes. Renegade tarps are fully waterproof. The coated polypropylene-based fabric blocks rain, snow and moisture to help keep your items dry without the need for water-repellent sprays. Unlike canvas tarps, which can absorb water and soak through during prolonged exposure, Renegade’s coated material does not absorb moisture.
Why does my tarp develop dark spots when it gets wet?
If the tarp’s surface coating becomes worn, moisture may temporarily darken the material. This is typically cosmetic and should not affect the tarp’s waterproof performance. Renegade tarps are made from mildew-resistant materials and are not treated with moisture-wicking chemicals. Allow the tarp to dry completely before folding or returning it to its storage bag.
How should I clean it?
Rinse the tarp with mild soap and water to remove dirt, sap or pollen. Use a soft cloth or other gentle cleaning tool, and avoid abrasive brushes or harsh detergents that could damage the coating. Let the tarp dry completely before folding or storing it.
Can the 20' x 12' tarp be recycled?
The tarp is made from polypropylene-based materials and can be recycled through Renegade’s take-back program or facilities that accept the applicable polypropylene material. It should not be placed in curbside recycling unless your local program specifically confirms that it accepts the product.
What size tarp should I choose?
Choose a tarp that extends beyond the item you need to cover and leaves enough material for securing it through the grommets. The 20 ft x 12 ft tarp is a large-format option for boats, trailers, equipment, materials and projects requiring up to 240 square feet of coverage.

I Just received my 12’x20′ tarp to cover my 17 ft boat. I got to say that it certainly feels more durable then the standard “Poly Tarps” I usually purchase a poly tarp every fall to cover the boat over the Pennsylvania winter and by spring, it is tattered and torn.
The material seems to be nice heavy dual layer plastic and the grommets appear to be molded in so they don’t tear out. I think this Renegade Tarp is going to hold up much better. Time will tell and I will update this review in a few months. BONUS – the tarp comes in a bag made out of the same tarp material instead of some useless plastic bag that just gets thrown into the trash. In fact I think if I can find the proper clip, this Renegade bag will make a nice dry bag for boating. I also like the green color !
